Located at the Visitors' Reception Centre is a unique shop that focuses on the military and social history of the early 19th century. Over 500 book titles are carried on subjects including The War of 1812, Native history, children's interests, clothing and costume, cooking, pottery, and music.
Not only do we carry postcards and souvenirs but also available are silverware, tinware, brassware and ironware along with a fine selection of pottery and chinaware, reflecting the life styles of the early 1800's. An excellent selection of classical, military and tavern music is available including the site's own production "Now We Are Met" which showcases music selections popular in 1812. Make your own music with a fife, tin whistle or jaw harp – with fingering charts and selected songs to help you master the instrument.
For the children or grandchildren, an excellent selection of books and hand toys including ball and cup, Jacob's ladder, bilboquet, whirling tops, finger puppets, dolls and much more.
